Furlong Park School

Stage Construction

A unique project with a specialised curriculum specifically for deaf or hearing impaired children between the ages of 4 and 12 was a new challenge for 3iD. The school is focussed on dispelling the myth that Deaf people will not be able to achieve to their full potential at the same level as their hearing peers. In response the brief called for existing classroom spaces originally purpose built for hearing impaired staff and students, to be further developed to improve the flexibility of specialist Art, Science, Music and PE programs. A completely new block of modern, flexible and visually stimulating general classrooms have been added to the site. Internally, these express the school emblems bright colours via a conscious selection of floor and wall linings, that feature splashes of colour. The project seeks to facilitate high quality specialised teaching and learning spaces to maximise the student progress and achievements.
