Oberon High School Refurbishment

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Oberon High School is a school with an extensive history in the region, yet facilities, student enrolments, and consequently general school morale were falling. The school sought to develop an architectural approach that raised the quality of space, expressed the history of the school, and reinforced the school’s identity.

Our designs combined the integration of graphic design with Architectural treatments to re-enforce educational principles, which significantly improved the quality of learning environments and ancillary spaces. New lighting design, and the inclusion of new wall and ceiling finishes allowed us the palette to create strong imagery, colour and text to express the culture and philosophy of the school. As is consistent with our general approach on capital works of this nature, our goal was to provide quality outcomes and environments, using intelligence and innovation to ensure the greatest effect to the total campus for the given budget.

I found both Mike Nowson and the other team members from 3iD to be professional, receptive to ideas and quick to follow up when I had concerns. Having worked closely with Mike and his team, on all occasions they were able to demonstrate a very good understanding of what is important to include to stimulate students in their learning, rather than incorporating irrelevant gimmicks. If I have future projects, I would have no hesitation in using the 3iD team.
