Strathtulloh Residence 1

Project Overview:

The Bunting family had come from a traditional, central Victorian farm home. They wanted their new house to be modern, yet a reflection of the traditional elements of their former home. The brief called for several strong functional elements: an open-living plan, a car showroom, indoor swimming pool, cinema room, and other large entertainment spaces. These were to be integrated cohesively into an inviting residence. Permeability of indoor and outdoor spaces and a visual connection between them was a strong theme throughout the design. This became most evident in the main living areas, which incorporate large expanses of glazing that open out to the main outdoor living area.

After the frustration of dealing with other architects, we were introduced to Mike Nowson. We were very impressed with his ideas and his willingness to listen to what we wanted and turn our ideas into reality. We found him and his team extremely easy to work with through out our project, and their ideas very practical. Without his input and support our home would not have been built to the high standard that has been achieved.
